All you need is the barcode on your student ID card to borrow materials from the library.
An active RAM ID (student ID number) and RAM ID password is required for off-campus access to CCSF Library subscription resources and databases, including online articles, streaming video, and e-books. When accessing these resources from off-campus, users will be prompted to log in with RAM ID, then will be able to view resources as if they are on-campus.
Choose the Books & Media tab of OneSearch to look for books.
Books in the library are organized by call number according to the Library of Congress classification system which groups items by subject, so you can often simply browse the shelves. Here are some relevant subjects and their call numbers:

Keywords to use when looking for books might include: Immigrants; Naturalization; Aliens; Deportation
And it may be useful to name countries from which immigrants arrive, for example: Dominican Immigrants
The CCSF Libraries provides free access to newspaper, magazine and journal article databases. Use OneSearch or a specific database the most up-to-date information, especially academic (scholarly) sources that are not available for free on the Web.
