Remote Access to Databases & E-books

An active RAM ID (student ID number) and RAM ID password is required for off-campus access to CCSF Library subscription resources and databases, including online articles, streaming video, and e-books. When accessing these resources from off-campus, users will be prompted to log in with RAM ID, then will be able to view resources as if they are on-campus.


Use OneSearch to search for books, eBooks, magazine, newspaper and journal articles, streaming videos, DVDs, CDs, images, and more, all in a single search.

Finding Books

Books in the library are organized by call number according to the Library of Congress classification system which groups items by subject, so you can often simply browse the shelves. Here are some relevant subjects and their call numbers:

Books in the CCSF Libraries


The library provides access to over 130,000+ EBooks.  Search BOTH our Ebscohost EBook Collection and CityCat to find Ebooks. More information on our EBook collection.  

When you are not on campus you will need to enter your RAM ID (student ID number) and RAM ID Password in order to access the EbscoHost EBook Collection:

Course Reserves

Does the library have textbooks? Yes!

Search the Course Reserves tab in OneSearch by course or instructor. You'll see which library has the course material, whether it is available and also the length of time it is available for check out. Above is an example of a textbook we have on reserve for Art 101.
