LBCS 96C: Labor Relations in the Modern American Workplace: Labor Videos

This guide provides starting points for conducting research for assignments in LBCS 96C.

Streaming from Home

An active RAM ID (student ID number) and RAM ID password is required for off-campus access to Films on Demand and Kanopy. When accessing these resources from off-campus, users will be prompted to log in with RAM ID, then will be able to view resources as if they are on-campus.

Films on Demand (FOD)

FIlms on Demand iconFilms on Demand  is an online library of streaming videos, covering a wide range of topics. many relating to culinary arts and hospitality.  There are approximately 15,000 films.

You can access Films on Demand from the library website's Articles and Databases page.

Links to individual film titles and segments can be shared with your students via Insight, email or your personal website.  Off-campus users will be prompted to login.

You can also created customized lists of films, and organize favorites into folders.

Creating FOD Accounts

Go to Films on Demand. Login with a RAM ID (if off-campus) or access FOD (if on campus), you have the option of creating a personal user account.  What are the benefits of doing this?

  • Allows you to tag and save favorites for easy recall
  • Lets you curate your own lists of films and segments, that can be shared with your students
  • Gives you control of user settings including playback rate and automatic startup of close captioning

To create an account, simply locate the "create account" screen in the upper right corner of the screen.
